ENERGIZING HISTORIC BROADWAY – LOS ANGELES
THE VISION
Revitalizing Downtown Los Angeles’ historic Broadway corridor requires bold, catalytic destinations that link the city’s past to its future. The Fourth & Broadway project seeks to bridge the energy of L.A. Live and the Staples Center with the rich architectural heritage and cultural promise of the city’s theater district—bringing renewed life, activity, and nightlife to the urban core.
This project envisions a Hard Rock Hotel as a cornerstone attraction—one that seamlessly merges hospitality, entertainment, and lifestyle into a landmark destination designed to spark momentum and establish critical mass for the district’s resurgence.
KEY FEATURES
Sky Theater
A provocative, first-of-its-kind rooftop venue for intimate concerts, DJ sets, film premieres, and cultural events—set high above the city and designed to become one of LA’s most iconic performance spaces.
Programmed Podium
An innovative multi-level base featuring curated retail, dining, and pop-up cultural experiences. The podium serves as both a social hub and a transition between street-level vibrancy and the garden-level terrace above.
Architectural Expression
A contemporary design language featuring simple lines, textured surfaces, and a sculptural lattice of abstract tree forms. This visual identity offers a sophisticated nod to nature while reflecting the creative energy of downtown.
Exploration-Driven Design
A stepped retail walkway carved into the façade leads visitors from Broadway into a layered environment of activity—inviting exploration and establishing a visual and physical dialogue with the street.
REACTIVATING THE DISTRICT
The Fourth & Broadway concept plays a key role in extending the gravitational pull of the entertainment district deeper into the historic core, creating a natural link between landmarks, nightlife, and cultural destinations. By combining hospitality with immersive programming, it creates a reason to visit—and stay—in an area poised for transformation.
This project isn’t just about real estate—it’s about placemaking. It’s about catalyzing the evolution of Downtown Los Angeles into a true 24-hour city center while honoring its past and reimagining its future.
